May 21, 2009 Governor Riley Appoints Rob Broussard as Madison County DA MONTGOMERY - Governor Bob Riley announced Thursday he is appointing Robert Broussard to serve as Madison County district attorney. Broussard is currently the countys deputy district attorney. He will replace Tim Morgan, who notified Governor Riley last week he will retire on June 1. Morgan has served as district attorney in Madison County for 16 years. After reviewing his resume and interviewing local leaders, I am convinced there could be no better candidate for the office of district attorney than Rob Broussard, Governor Riley said. It is easy to understand why the district attorney, Tim Morgan, has recommended him as his replacement. In order to ensure an orderly transition, I am announcing today that I will appoint Rob Broussard as district attorney for Madison County to begin serving at the time of Tim Morgans resignation. Im honored that the Governor has the confidence in me to appoint me to this position, Broussard said. After 21 years of working in this office, I know the business from top to bottom and Im confident that experience will serve me well. I look forward to serving the people of Madison County as their District Attorney. Broussard is a graduate of Florida State University and Cumberland Law School. He will fill the remainder of Morgans term as district attorney. | |
