November 26, 2008 Governor Riley Offers Thanksgiving Message Via Internet Video MONTGOMERY - Governor Bob Riley today released a Thanksgiving video message in which he reflects on the centuries-old American tradition of giving thanks to God and asks Alabamians to help those in need this holiday season. In the video, Governor Riley says, The Pilgrims were seeking a more hopeful place when they made their journey to the New World. And from the tiny community they established on the edge of a vast, untamed wilderness grew the most powerful, the freest and most magnificent nation ever known. May we always be inspired by their courage and their faith, and may we never forget to give thanks for all the many ways God has blessed us. The Governors Thanksgiving message is being emailed to state employees and is posted on the states media website as well as YouTube.
