March 06, 2008 Governor Riley Offers $10,000 Reward for Information in Auburn Students Death MONTGOMERY - Governor Bob Riley is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of an Auburn University student who was shot to death near campus on Tuesday.
Lauren A. Burk, 18, of Marietta, Ga., was found along Alabama Highway 147 on Tuesday night with a single gunshot wound. She was transported to East Alabama Medical Center where she died. Everything that can be done must be done to bring this killer to justice. I hope that this reward will encourage someone who can help police solve this crime to come forward, said Governor Riley. Our prayers go out to Laurens family and friends during this difficult time.
Individuals with information about the shooting should contact Detective James Perry of the Auburn Police Department at 334-501-3140. | |
