June 07, 2004 FIRST LADY PATSY RILEY HOSTS BRIDAL SHOW AT GOVERNORS MANSION MONTGOMERY - First Lady Patsy Riley today hosted "A Day to Remember" Bridal Show at the Governors Mansion. The event featured a fashion show of new bridal attire from various bridal shops across the state as well as an exhibit of dresses of the past, many belonging to spouses of state dignitaries. "This is a wonderful opportunity for women from all parts of Alabama to learn about the new trends in bridal gowns," First Lady Patsy Riley said. "It is especially heart warming to remember our special wedding day as we view the dresses of the past." Participating bridal shops are: All About Weddings, Always a Bridesmaid, Densons, Tangs and Bridal Bliss. Bridal Bliss displayed dresses from the Grace Kelly Collection, Princess Grace of Monaco, part of the MGM Studios, Hollywood Collection. Flowers for the event were provided by Rosemont Gardens. The exhibit of dresses from the past will also be available for viewing 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursday throughout the month of June and Saturday, June 19th. Tickets for this viewing are $10 per person and require reservations. Proceeds benefit the Alabama Executive Mansion Foundation, which is in the process of restoring the historic residence. |
